Nice to meet you! Welcome to my food and life blog. I have been passionate about cooking for as long as I remember – pretty sure 99% of life’s problems can be solved in the kitchen.
Life has a way of throwing hurdles at you, so after living the majority of our lives in Chicago, my family picked up and moved. Long story short, we moved around and found ourselves outside of Dallas, TX. While I am a Chicago girl at heart, Dallas is now home. “Y’ALL” will never naturally roll off my tongue, but “YOU GUYS” sure will. The best part about living in Texas? Tacos. And lack of subzero temps.
I work full-time and spend hours at the pool watching my 16 year old swim. Feeding a swimmer is like feeding a small army, and I am up for the challenge.
My current home situation:
- One son away at college
- One son scoping out colleges to swim at in 2021
- One man that has somehow stayed by my side (sometimes carrying me) for 20 years
- One 10 year old Yorkie-Poo that still happily greets me every time I walk in the door
It’s hard to believe that in a couple years, my husband and I will be empty-nesters. Since I’m a deep thinker, I’m already stressing about 2 things-
- Did I enjoy it all as much as I could?
- Did I do a good job?
I’ll never really have a definitive answer for either, but I am committing myself to living life to the fullest while we can and in my case that involves lots of time in the kitchen around the table.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy my kitchen thoughts.
-Susan
